Summer Barbecue June 2003
Competition: if you can come up with a better verse than the one below (and
that can't be too difficult!) the Webmistress will give you a Mars Bar.
(Bite-size ... she's not that rich!)
'Twas a hot sunny day in late June....
And in Clandon we see a balloon .... (or 3) |
| So we enter the gate.. |
hoping not to be late .. |
| and straightway, o'er the garden, we swoon! |
Past the 'hollies' we step first of all |
| then the garden we sight, all enthrall(ed) |
There's Elaine, our hostess,
dressed to clear any mess, |
| while her guests, HCS, |
have a ball ..... |
| Some |
prefer |
| the |
cool |
| shade |
of |
| the |
trees |
as the garden's strong heat |
| makes them wheeze (oh per- lease!)) |
| others venture afar |
to be nearer the bar |
and here's Richard, first bass, quite at ease! |
| David Morgan's in charge of the |
meat (in the heat!) |
| His cool wife |
directs staff |
| in their feat (keep it neat!) |
But her gaze is distracted |
| the staff leave, so attracted |
to get seconds from Pete* (what a treat!)
[poetic licence - hope you don't mind, Peter!) |
| "So, how good was the food?" -
do we hear?
Jenny's smile says it all, "it's top gear!" |
Heather adds a 'Merci!'
(she speaks French, you can see!)
Elaine, David, are you open next year?!!
THANK YOU, ELAINE AND DAVID, FOR
HOSTING A WONDERFUL SOCIAL EVENT. WE REALLY ENJOYED OURSELVES! |
