Leith Hill 2004

We all thoroughly enjoyed the 2004 Festival.

In the morning, we engaged in friendly 'competition' with the other choirs in our division (Dorking, Epsom and Beare Green & Newdigate), and were most encouraged by the comments which the adjudicators made on our performances ... particularly since Robin had concentrated on improving our tone and our presentation, and both were praised.  Although we didn't win any classes, we were 'runners up' in many of them!  Click here  to see some of the nice things the adjudicators said about us.

In the afternoon, we had a full rehearsal with Brian Kay as our conductor, and the English Festival Orchestra, before taking part in an exciting performance in the evening.

Here are some photos, which give an 'impression' (albeit rather fuzzy at times ... the photographer was quite excited!) of the preparation for the day, and the day itself.

Wednesday evening 'polishing rehearsal' ....

Horsley ensemble 1 - congratulated on the way in which they communicated with each other.

Thursday morning early 'warm-up' session with Robin ....

last minute advice from Eleanor to Helena ...
Trish, surely  natural Head Girl material?!
Olive, Nancy and Paul oblige with a smile!  (Others not quite sure what to do ..!)
Spot the jolly altos in the back row!
Moving exercises (that's my excuse for poor focus!)
Robin, the new babygrow icon (and our very popular conductor!)

Together with our three friendly rival choirs!
