Horsley Choral Society joined with other local singers to form a 230 strong choir at this year's Leith Hill Music Festival at the Dorking Halls. The festival was founded in 1905 by Margaret Vaughan-Williams, sister of Ralph Vaughan-Williams who conducted the festival until 1953. After a morning of friendly competition the various local choirs involved combine to stage a spectacular evening concert under the baton of Neil Ferris. The audience was then treated to works by Bach, Vivaldi, Leonarda and Hayden accompanied by the Canzona orchestra. HCS Chair, John Stone commented, "We are proud of our association with the festival and welcome new singers who wish to join us on our musical journey as we look forward to taking part in the festival again in 2027.
